Rolling resistance is the effort required to keep your tires rolling at a given speed. Low rolling resistance tires require less effort to keep in motion than regular tires.

Imagine that there are two tires at the top of a hill. One is regular passenger tire, and the other is a low rolling resistance tire. If the two tires are pushed with the exact same force, the low rolling resistance tire will roll farther than the regular tire.
HOW MUCH GAS CAN I SAVE WITH BRIDGESTONE ECOPIA TIRES?
Low rolling resistance tires can generally help you travel farther on one tank of gas than regular tires. For example, the Ecopia EP422 Plus has been shown to help cars and minivans get 20 extra miles per tank.*
Research from the U.S. Department of Energy shows low rolling resistance tires can produce fuel savings of as much as 10%, although it’s around 3% for most drivers. Although that doesn’t sound like much, those numbers can add up over time and lead to substantial fuel savings.
